HDTVs / VIZIO XWH200 Wireless AV Kit Review
Bookmark: del.icio.us Reddit Google Reader Comments
I know the last comment is over a year old but I thought I should mention for anyone still thinking about purchasing. Whatever problem the Vizio unit had with Verizon Fios seems to be resolved now. I have Fios and this unit works flawlessly. Also, It's only $99.99 with free shipping on Vizio's website right now. Use Promo code regvizio10 to get $10 more off. Way cheaper than 4 long HDMI cables.
I bought it before reading the problems here. Have an idea. Has anyone tried routing the cable box through another receiver before the transmitter, then to the TV? Otherwise I'll just have to return it. Bummer since it's just what I need.
I spent the night on the phone with Vizio and with Verizon. Typical tech support -- they laughed at each other (literally). Vizio says Verizon box needs to support PCM audio, and Verizon says our box doesn't have PCM audio (spoke to 3 techs at Verizon). I've read similar complaints about XWH200 and DirectTV.
Bottom line -- XWH200 will not work with Verizon Fios cable box.
bought this on impulse at Costco. No audio (video is ok) from Verizon cable box. Audio and video work fine from Blu-Ray player.
Anyone come up with a solution yet?
I just bought one today from Costco, it also has no audio when connect to cable box.
I am beginning to see a pattern here. I bought one at Costco and also have no audio, but only from Direct TV. Audio from a DVD player works okay. Vizio says call Direct TV. Direct TV says call Vizio. I am going to return it and try another one.
The same as Gary's posting on Oct 16, I am on my second XWH200 after my first one (COSTCO, $169 + tax) gave me NO AUDIO, and port 2 did not work at all. After calling VIZIO support and was told it was a defective unit after some troubleshooting,I returned it, and my second one also gives no audio. I'm thinking that since the transmitter & receiver are only a couple of feet away from each other (because I'm trying to verify operation with my existing TV before buying the second TV to be used with it), that there may be RF overload to the receiver, because I cannot think of any other earthly reason why both units have no audio. BTW, this second unit is acting squirrely in other ways, like making my TV switch which TV HDMI input is activated.....very strange indeed.
Just purchased a Visio XWH200 wireless router to connect my PC Dell E6420 to my Sony Bravia KDL-46VL130 TV. Have worked through all of the guide suggestions and over the phone with Visio support and no solution yet. I'm getting the video just fine. However, I get no audio whatso ever. Anyone have the solution?
I just bought the Oppo 93EU and this was a huge improvement over my PS3. I have a Panasonic 50VT20 at the moment, but I bought this Oppo for our upcoming JVC 3D Projector. I've read a lot about ending up with a better projector using the Oppo.
Now I saw your review of this amazing Vizio XWH200. This will resolve my problem of putting a long HDMI cable over our ceiling. - Will this solution let me keep the high quallity of what the Oppo provides me right now? If not, I wont mention it to my wife. If it does, this will make her VERY happy. Thank you very much for taking the time; Matthieu.
