P R E S S R E L E A S E VIEWSONIC TURNS ON TRUE HIGH DEFINITION WITH 1080p TVs LCD TVs Offer Outstanding Performance and ValueLAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2007 – Forging ahead with its commitment to bring the highest quality HDTV to homes everywhere, ViewSonic ® Corp. unveiled its first widescreen LCD TVs capable of displaying images in stunning 1080p. The NextVision ® 46-inch N4661w and the 42-inch N4261w N4661w and N4261w feature a 1920x1080 native resolution, along with future-ready HDMI connections for supporting the latest digital media devices. For consumers needing a smaller HDTV, ViewSonic added the 26-inch N2652w to its TV line. The company also demonstrated its latest future technology, showcasing a 37-inch LCD TV prototype featuring an integrated dock for iPods with video. The three additions to ViewSonic's growing entertainment portfolio and prototype, digital lifestyle television represent yet another way the company is extending its heritage of display leadership and innovation in desktop LCD technology to the TV market to bring consumers more affordable, high performance offerings. "ViewSonic's drive to deliver premium performance at lower prices has never been more evident," said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. "Our portfolio of high definition LCD TVs now ranges from 20- to 46-inches, allowing ViewSonic to provide consumers with high-end displays for any room or budget." Because progressive-scan image quality will be added to more and more HD content in the near future, ViewSonic built its two 1080p displays—N4661w and N4261w—with the integrated functionality necessary to guarantee customers a top-quality viewing experience for years to come. Both displays have comprehensive inputs—including component, digital "S," composite video and VGA—to be compatible with existing VCRs, PCs and DVD players, along with the HDMI connections needed to support high-definition peripherals, such as video game consoles and media center PCs. To further enhance entertainment experiences, the televisions deliver high-quality audio through an incorporated 10W SRS TruSurround ® XT sound system, and provide easy hook-up to home stereo equipment through a SPDIF audio-out. The displays also operate without an internal cooling fan to eliminate the distracting audible buzz that is common with other HDTV offerings. The N4261w provides a 1500:1 contrast ratio (typ), 450 nits of brightness (typ) and an ultra-wide 178 degree maximum viewing angle, while the N4661w has an 800:1 contrast ratio (typ), 500 nits of brightness (typ) and a 176 degree maximum viewing angle. Both TVs come with ATSC/NTSC digital and analog TV tuners, and offer an 8ms response time to eliminate image blurring, and a cutting-edge PixelWorks ® processor to render the sharpest images possible. For consumers who want a smaller TV for kitchens, bedrooms and dorm rooms, the widescreen N2652w offers brilliant, crisp images through its high definition resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio (typ), 500 nits of brightness (typ) and an 8ms response time for handling the fast-moving images in action movies and video games. With a DVI-compatible HDMI port, S-Video, component and RF inputs, the N2652w includes all the essential connections for diverse viewing experiences. Additional features, such as ATSC/NTSC digital and analog TV tuners, an integrated power supply and a sleek, modern bezel, ensure that this HDTV will be the focal point in any room. The N2652w will be available in February with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $699 and the N4261w in March at an MSRP of $1,799. The pricing and availability of the N4661w will be announced in the second quarter. All three LCD TVs are backed by a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor, with a two-year or three-year extended limited warranty available for purchase.
