SHARP® DELIVERS TRUE VALUE TO CONSUMERS AT CEDIA 09 WITH HIGH QUALITY HOME THEATER OPTIONS
Energy-saving LED-backlit LCD TV line, 60- and 65-inch class LCD TV offerings at groundbreaking prices and BD-ROM Profile 2.0 1080p Full HD Blu-ray Disc™ player highlight Sharp’s CEDIA line-up
ATLANTA, September 10, 2009 – At CEDIA 2009 Sharp is making high-end home
entertainment options a reality for the everyday consumer, offering premium quality large-screen
AQUOS® LCD TVs at value price points and demonstrating a full line of LED-backlit LCD TVs
that provide excellent picture quality and ultra-low energy consumption. In addition to the
AQUOS LED LCD TV series, Sharp is introducing groundbreaking pricing on 60- and 65-inch
class AQUOS LCD models, providing full-featured large-screen TVs to fulfill consumer wishes in
this difficult economy.
Complementing the AQUOS LCD TV introductions is a new Sharp AQUOS Blu-ray
player that supports BD-ROM Profile 2.0 for BD Live interactive features through an Ethernet
jack-enabled Internet connection. The player will also provide consumers access to premium
streaming video content* for a first-class home theater experience.
“Sharp continues to develop and expand its high-definition display offerings, while
keeping consumer needs and budget constraints in mind,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice
president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp. “Our 60- and 65-inch
class LCD price points provide a solution for consumers that have been waiting for very large
LCD TVs to replace their older rear projection or plasma TVs. Sharp is committed to delivering
the best quality high-definition products and we are making every effort to bring these
innovations to the general consumer, like with the new AQUOS LED LCD TV Series that offers a
premium picture without a premium price.”
Sharp has also recently made enhancements to its AQUOS Net™ service, which gives
users instant access to customized Web-based content in the form of widgets, as well as realtime
customer support. For an improved customer experience, multi-image side bar viewing
has been incorporated to AQUOS Net capable LCD TVs to provide greater flexibility in
navigating side bar widgets. This allows consumers to view several widgets of content at once.
Earlier this year, Sharp added new content from Rallypoint to its roster of widgets, which
currently includes content from Weatherbug to check the local forecast, NASDAQ for stock
quotes, Accedo Broadband for casual games such as blackjack and Sudoku, UCLICK to follow
daily comic strips, daily local NAVTEQ Traffic™ reports, AQUOS Gallery, which provides users
with beautiful high-resolution 1080p images of scenery and nature, and a variety of web-based
content from NBCU’s broad portfolio. Rallypoint is the leading provider of software and services
for Internet-enabled HDTVs and interactive television. With Rallypoint’s services, consumers
can access fantasy sports content and social networking features. At CEDIA, Sharp is
announcing a new Sports Score Widget from Rallypoint for up-to-the-minute NFL scores,
upcoming schedules, in-progress updates, final scores and league standings.
Through AQUOS Net, consumers also have access to unparalleled customer support for
their television, including the ability to have dedicated AQUOS AdvantageSM advisors connect
remotely to their TV to assist in adjusting the TV’s settings and optimizing picture quality for the
best viewing experience. This interactive tool, known as AQUOS Advantage LiveSM, is easily
accessible from the AQUOS Net home page. AQUOS Net is incorporated into the 40-inch class
and larger new AQUOS LED LCD TV series.
The 2009 CEDIA Sharp Electronics booth features a myriad of styles of AQUOS LCD
TVs, ranging from the company’s widescreen 19-inch (18 ½” diagonal) screen class AQUOS
LCD TV offering, up through 65-inch (64-33/64” diagonal) screen class sizes. These models

any iPod device, as well as a powerful new Sound Bar for space-saving surround-sound audio

purity with higher luminance per watt so less power is needed. The series is mercury-free,
exceeds the EPA’s ENERGY STAR criteria for power consumption by up to 67 percent and has
a long lifespan of 100,000 hours. The AQUOS LED series also includes Sharp’s AQUOS Net™
