P R E S S R E L E A S E Marantz Debuts it's Largest Plasma Display Monitor at CES 2005, the 61-inch PD6150D New High-Definition Big-Screen Performer Features Improved Performance, Sleek Black Bezel Design and HDMI Input
ITASCA, IL., January 6, 2005 – Marantz America, a world leader in advanced home entertainment products, is expanding its line of plasma display monitors at CES 2005 (Booth # 20901, LVCC South Hall) with the company's largest-screen size, the 61-inch PD6150D. The high-definition PD6150D ($18,499) joins Marantz's two other recently introduced HD models, the 50-inch PD5050D (SRP: $8,499) and the 42-inch PD4250D (SRP: $6,499) in the line, as well as the high-value enhanced definition 42-inch PD4230D (SRP: $4,499). All four plasma displays feature an elegant black bezel design, a newly designed user-friendly on-screen display and remote controls with discrete input selection. High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) connectivity on all models ensure that video signals from high-definition source such as an HDTV converter or DVD player are fed in their purest, uncompressed digital form to the plasma display through. Designed for maximum flexibility in placement and no-compromise video performance, all Marantz plasma displays are compatible with the widest variety of digital and analog video sources and all are HDTV and DTV-compatible. The PD6150D, PD5050D and the PD4250D are true high-definition monitors — capable of displaying 480p or 720p progressive scan images from DVD-Video players, HDTV set-top boxes or computers; as well as 1080i images from an HDTV set-top box or other sources and up-converted images from any NTSC source. All four models will also display images from a computer up to UXGA resolution. PD6150D: Superior Big Screen Performance Like all Marantz plasma display monitors, the PD6150D includes an extensive array of connectivity options. Along with the HDMI connection, all feature seven video inputs, including digital RGB, component RGB (5x), component RCA, VGA, S-Video, composite video inputs, and multiple audio inputs. All sets are compatible with NTSC, PAL and SECAM formats. In addition, RS-232C connections in all displays facilitate integrated system control. All sets feature a built-in deinterlacer and scaler, allowing the set to operate in either native progressive scan mode or to upconvert video sources. All displays provide a choice of aspect ratio modes for viewing standard 4:3 format and 16:9 widescreen program material with the highest-possible image quality. Advanced multi-screen operation functions in all Marantz plasma displays enable viewers to watch the image from a video source and the output from a computer at the same time. Key functionality as well as video and audio adjustments are easily accessible via the newly designed, intuitive on-screen menu and improved, easier-to-use remote control featuring discrete input selection. The PD6150D will be available in April 05 for a suggested retail price of $18,499.
