P R E S S R E L E A S E SAMSUNG DELIVERS A COMPLETE HOME ENTERTAINMENT ECOSYSTEM WITH ITS 2014 PRODUCT LINEUP Samsung’s New Curved and UHD TVs, Premium Audio Products and Content Partnerships Create the Most Immersive and Cohesive Entertainment Experience for Consumers
RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. - March 20, 2014 - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the leader in TV technology for 8 years, today announced the availability and pricing of its full 2014 Home Entertainment product lineup, including the immersive U9000 Series of Curved Ultra High Definition (UHD) TVs and its expansive portfolio of home audio products. "In 2014, we've once again asserted our leadership in the home entertainment space by delivering the next big thing across our product categories," said Joe Stinziano, Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics America. "From our full lineup of UHD and curved TVs to our Shape Wireless Audio-Multiroom Systems and content partnerships, we pride ourselves on offering consumers the ecosystem of choice, with beautifully designed premium home entertainment products that best suit their lifestyles." Getting Immersed With Samsung's Curved UHD TVs Samsung's new 2014 Curved UHD TVs deliver a bold theatrical experience and fundamentally change the way the world views TVs. The curved screen gives videos a presence not felt on flat screens, plus, a wider field of view creates a panoramic effect that makes the display seem even bigger than it is and draws viewers in like no TV has ever done before. From virtually any viewing position or angle, the curved design creates a more true-to-life experience so everyone watching has the best seat in the house. With four times the resolution and pixels of Full HD, these UHD TVs provide unsurpassed picture quality. UHD sources look spectacular in crisp 4K resolution on Samsung UHD TVs. Thanks to UHD Upscaling, featured on all Samsung UHD TVs, viewers are treated to the best possible picture, regardless of source material. The proprietary technology converts Full HD, HD and lower resolution sources to nearly-UHD clarity through a unique four-step process that includes signal analysis, noise reduction, upscaling and detail analysis, so everything looks better on Samsung UHD TVs. UHD Dimming technology also helps to further optimize picture quality by processing each block of a picture and delivering deeper blacks and improved contrast. Samsung's UHD TVs not only support today's standards -- including HEVC, HDMI 2.0, MHL 3.0 and HDCP 2.2; they are the only TVs on the market that are future-ready, thanks to the Samsung UHD Evolution Kit. The One Connect Box essentially houses the brains of the TV externally, enabling customers to switch out the box with the latest Samsung UHD Evolution Kit to stay up to date on the latest UHD standards, as well as get access to the newest technology Samsung has to offer, all helping customers protect their investment for many years to come. In 2014, Samsung is rolling out four new series of UHD TVs, more than doubling its UHD product line up from last year. From flat panel to Curved, Samsung is offering the widest range of UHD TVs to fit consumer choice. Samsung's 105" Curved UHD TV - Thanks to its significant 105-inch size, beautifully curved design and movie-theater aspect ratio, this TV offers the ultimate cinema-quality experience in the living room. Color is further enhanced on these sets with Samsung's PurColor™ technology, expressing more detailed shades and Peak Illuminator & Precision Black maximizes brightness range which reproduces the picture as film-makers envisioned.
