My Experience: We bought this brand new 13 years ago. Now in 2020, the picture finally gave out, but so far in research, it appears fixable. I’ll open the back to check for any obviously blown capacitor thing (the cylinders), and failing that will just replace the main board cause I’m confident that for a 60” of this calibre, it’s quite worth it. Looks easy enough -unplug before you attempt such, and ground yourself properly!
AKAI is Japanese, so this will never die.

Problems: Now in 2020, picture could be a little crisper, but for the production year, this is still very impressive. Mine’s still the house to see movies at!
