My Experience: This TV is outdated. Paid $2000 for it in 2004, and that was a decent deal at the time, but now you can get a decent 42" LCD thin-body for half that much. The LM500 Bulb went out after a 1 1/2 years and cost $250 to replace. The second bulb has lasted 2.5 years but the screen image is now a bit greenish and I'm not sure if it's the bulb or something else. The bulb prices have gone way down to about $100 now, so when it goes out I'll buy one more bulb and use it for another couple of years. Then, the whole $2000 TV is going in the trash. Hey, the sound system in it is awesome!
Problems: LM500 Bulb is pricey. After 4 years now the picture has a greenish tint and not very bright. The picture used to be very good though.
