My Experience: Bought the 65 inch mitsubishi wdc657 from costco in december 2007. Family was amazed that the tv was not that expensive. Paid about $1500.00. Was also told by The Maytag Store that Mitsubishi makes tvs just for Costco and that they are made with lower quality parts and this is why Costco can sell for less. What an eye opener!!

Problems: Less than 1 year the bulb needed replacing at $250. Installed by my husband. All was good until August 2010..white dot appeared left side of screen. White dots now cover most of left side but we are tolerating it while we try and figure out how to pay for the "light engine" costing $1448.23 labor and parts and tax. I have called mitsubishi and costco to see why this tv doesn't even last 3 years. We are trying to work something out, but have not made a decision because it still involves socking in more of our money. I cannot believe there is not a recall. If I were to pay for this repair, it will have cost me over $3000.00 for this inexpensive tv. My older 25 inch with ancient technology has lasted 10+ years. What's wrong with this picture?
