My Experience: purchased th-42pz77u six months ago and really liked,UNTIL the upper buffer board went bad. So Panasonis thought, when they replaced the board it was immediately shorted out by what they say is now a bad Plasma display. It requires the entire set to be dismantled, Heard enough? These sets are very susseptable to heat loads because the tolerances are so tight. Panasonic seems to be aware that this issue exists, check the tech sites and type in 7 flash error code and you will see what I mean. I am in a replacement resolution stage with Panasonic right now.
Problems: Check tech sites for ongoing problems with this model, I think you will be surprised. OH and GET the extended warranty. The Plasma display is about $1400, their cost
