My Experience: Excellent Hd Plasma
Pros: Ample HD connectivity. Color. Contrast ratio.Sd slot.Good sound quality with built in Sub woofer.
Cons: Remote control isn't back lit.
This plasma really shines with a HD source. I use the Cable Card slot so a HDMI or component connection isn't needed to receive HD. I had it connected HDMI via digital cable box but decided why pay the extra $10.50 that Time Warner charges for a box. The picture was great hooked up with HDMI though. Standard def 480i is what really surprised me, it was much better than my two Olevia LCD's.PS3 connected via HDMI,and the gaming experience is awesome. The Blu Ray player in the PS3 up converts standard 480i to 1080p. I know that sounds funny because this plasma is a 720p. I figure since the Blu Ray output is 1080p is why. When I display the info button on my remote it says that it's displaying 1080p. I bought a Blu Ray disc (X Men) and watched it and it displayed 1080p. I put in a 480 disc of X Men and it up converted it to 1080p. Frankly and honestly I could not tell the difference between the two different disc. I bought this model in July of 07 for $1500.00 online. Qutie a savings from the original MSRP of $3200.00. I would like to add that the Cable Card in unidirectional so you can't use "on demand",pay per veiw,or access the program guide offered by the cable company. This model does have a built in "TV Guide".
