My Experience: 2 years after purchase, the menu would pop up at all times for no reason. It cost $200 to get a new software upgrade which fixed the menu problem, but now, it can't remember channels and needs channels reinstalled every time I turn on the tv. I have researched this tv after the fact and found other people with the same problem. Philips has been very unsympathetic, they knew there was an inherent problem with their product and they should have recalled it. I am not sure whether I should keep sinking money into this crappy tv or cut my losses and buy a Sony. I would not recommend this tv to anyone.
Problems: Philips tvs have a problem with their software that causes the menu to pop up all the time (search the internet, there are several instances with any size Philips HDTVs). Software upgrade caused a host of other problems that now the tv repair guy says I need to replace a scaler board or something. This is a money pit.
