My Experience: When it comes to LCDs, this is the one of the best units next to the high-end Sony projection, which we also own for the family room. The color purity and black and white contract are excellent. What we don't like is the inability to adjust the tint in anything other than non-digital channels. Tint is always a problem in broadcast TV. Samsung's answer is to change the "temp" normal, cool 1&2 or warm 1&2. I wish we could bypass it and make our own adjustments, which are needed! A nice feature is the ability to adjust bulb gain. Very helpful when lying in bed at night and watching TV or a DVD. This allows the "brightness level" to be turned down. Split screen is not too difficult. Yes, there is only one tuner, but by using component or HMDI cables and a simple recorder device of somekind, you get both. Size is adjustable in certain modes. We choose equal split screens. Great for watching dual sports, news, broatcast TV and something else. You are limited to non-hi-def resolution in most cases. Another convenient feature is only programming those channels you want. The good part is that you can input another non-programmed channel and watch it. Many HD TVs will not permit this feature. Then there is the PC interface, very cool for hooking up the lap top and watching "free" classic TV. There are some better TVs out there, but you will be hard pressed to find anything close for the money, and money was only a minor consideration when we bought it for the bedroom. We have consulted on many TVs and this is one of our top picks. I am not a commercial vendor, just someone who knows this business and what is out there. Many vendors carries the 27", 31" and 37" models at a very competitive price, and keep pricing current. $969 as of 11/25/06 in our area, a drop of $180 since early September. The SRS , while 10Wx2 on the 32" and 37: models is still a bit weak. Add a sub dor sure and make the system at least 3.1. We have it mounted on a hi-end articulating arm with tilt. It is aligned to the center, head of the bed. The TV is ~12' from the head of the bed. It was a toss up to go larger. Do not go smaller if you watch any wide-screen DVD or wide anamorphic views. The picture will be just too small with what the band on the top and bottom. The only this better was a 46" Sony Bravia, with a price tag over $3000. A tough sell for both size and price. You cannot go wrong with this TV. Buy it! Enjoy IT!
