My Experience: Just removed the back panel and found I have a Samsung TV with a Sanyo shell. Very expensive piece of trash.
Problems: Turned the tv off and when I came back had a weak black and white negative picture. Sound was still there. This is a 2008 50 inch plasma tv. It seems Samsung has had so many 2008 failures that a class action suit has or is going to be filed. A Sears technician tells me that I have a blown capacitor and recommends replacing the whole board at a cost of $400-$500. Sorry, I can buy a capacitor locally for $2. The question is which one.
