My Experience: My first impression was a little disappointing, although I did have it connected at first with a standard analog 75 Ohm cable connection. A couple days later I upgraded my cable service to include HDTV with a new converter box that supports composite and HDMI outputs (I opted to use the HDMI). It was literally a night and day difference in picture quality, even in the non-HD channels.
Viewing angle is awesome, the picture does not degrade at all with off-axis viewing (this was one of my biggest fears in getting a LCD TV, seeing that LCDs in the past could only be enjoyed by sitting directly in front of them)
Setup was easy, picture quality is excellent with the right input, sound is ok. Sound with the digital input (HDMI) is much better than with analog, but still not great.
Problems: Sound quality is ok, but I augment my TVs sound with my 5.1 surround system anyway.
So-so picture quality with analog inputs, HDMI input is really needed to bring out this sets full potential (HDMI cable is NOT included and costs about $30-40.)
This set replaced a 34" Sony I had, I miss the ability to put custom labels on the inputs in the menu. Additionally, hitting the channel button in error will make the set switch back to TV input.
