My Experience: We have owned the TV for 3+ years and it has worked fantastic. We have HD Dish driving the picture and HD is great, and SD is just okay. Picture does not format correct the 16:9, takes some tinkering to get all of the image on the screen. Screen is durable as 3 year old tends to pound on it with balls, toys, etc. Speakers are holding out nicely, but we don't use excessive volume. Suprised the lamp hasn't burnt out yet after 3 years .....

Problems: Only issue is that now the screen turns itself on and off (randomly) for about a minute and then the picture pops back on, this is not a dimming, audio/video both go out (like turning the TV off). From a previous reviewer, sounds like the lamp is "going out". Sony online help/chat and tech advisors we eager to help and on all occassion defaulted to the "please call an authorized repair center". In the end, the calls and chats were of no value. It will be less painful to just buy a new lamp for $200 and "hope" it fixes the problem ;-( if anyone reading this thinks they can diagnos the problem, feel free to contact me at ben.clark@sbcglobal.net
