My Experience: I have owned the unit for 1+ years. The problems of the previous post sounds like they hooked it up to a NON-HD cable box. This is a HD TV and should be used with a HD cable box. I use this for Blu Ray and HD cable box, the multiple HDMI hookups are great as I can hook up my computer and cable with the HDMI which is FAR superior to Co-ax, RCA or RGB composite cables.
You do have to tweak the lighting and color levels to the room you use it in, and I suggest surfing the web or using THX optimizer on many THX dvds. I would not pay $300 for professional balancing as the lighting in the room is the biggest factor, and will change throughout the day/night in most cases.
Once colors/brightness are balanced you will get EXCELLENT picture! The sound is also VERY good. There is Game Mode as well which will help to cut any *blur" durring game play caused by fast movements, I also use this setting while watching Football and it's amazing.
