My Experience: I purchased this new August 2005. Within just a few months, I had to have the entire engine replaced. Luckily, it was still under warranty at that time. It is now June 2008 and the TV is again completely dead - no picture, no sound. The power comes on but it won't "boot up". It is now in the hands of a repair man. I spent $1800 on this tv only 3 years ago. I agree with the other post on this site. Hitachi should make right with their customers when this happens.
