My Experience: I compared this set to the new Philips 60" DLP and the new Sony Grand Wega 55" LCD in a store everyday for over 2 weeks before purchase. The picture quality was overwhelming at all times (light) of the day. At our retail store we noticed the Philips set, stand, and paint was silver and cheap. The silver paint was coming off while it was on display. The Sony LCD had a "dark-ish" picture and no stand, but the design was great. The new Sony 55" DLP was over our budget. This RCA has a classic deep charcoal and professional black look to it and the stand is very roomy under-neth, love the 2 large open extra thick glass shelves and cable access. This is by far the nicest and "trick" looking TV with an outstanding stand. All the features and adjustments are incredible considering the price. The picture is on the WOW!! gorgeous list. You will love this TV! Of course we purchased the 3 year warranty (always do) to be safe. The remote is super easy to use and is almost a universal. We had a budget of $1999 plus tax and warranty. What a deal for WAY under (hundreds) our $1999 budget line. I suggest to set aside an hour for the shelf assembly. The TV directions for "Dummies" is included, logical, and fast to understand. This web sight helped with our family purchase, Thank You!!
