My Experience: I recently upgraded to HDTV and thought I would try this set. I was not pleased at all with this unit, so I had to return it. The HDTV picture was fine and the off-air HDTV was great as well. The non HD channels from my Dish Network receiver, however, were very dark. In fact, the darker areas of the scenes were so dark there was no detail at all. Even my local channels were like this. The HD channels were better but the majority of the channels are still standard definition and looked horrid. I tried my spare standard definition set and the picture was great, so it had to be the Sanyo with the problem. This set only has a brightness setting, nothing at all for the type scene or room environment where you locate the set (cool, normal and warm) settings like I've seen on more expensive units. The sound is really bad. No bass or treble, just a tone setting. If you want sound, don't buy this set. I will complement this set on being easy to use.

Problems: Very poor detail in darker areas of the scenes on non HD channels. Speakers sound like a cheap radio instead of a Plasma HDTV.
