My Experience: I bought the set new in December 2006. It had a good picture for the first year or more but started getting slightly dim but OK. At about 2 years + the TV would come on for 2-3 sec. and black out. After 3 or more on&offs it would come on and stay on. No help from sharp.

Problems: No picture
