My Experience: Less than 5 yrs. after purchase, the KDE50XS955 developed near fatal picture distortion. Large rolling green & purple bands & an increasingly darkening image. I contacted Sony: "out of warranty", no repair advice. I spoke to local Sony repair shops: "this is common with this model series". Over the phone estimates + $650-800. I'll never buy another large screen Sony. Horrible CS attitude!
