My Experience: I use this monitor as the main display for my computer. Very nice and clear image quality. Does it directly compete with a modern high end "gaming display" - no. The LVM-37W1 was designed as a multi purpose general display. So, with that in mind I think it holds its own very well particularly since the the monitor is 19 years old.
Lastly - the Removable speakers ROCK! With a 20 watt per channel built in amp, I have not found a modern display (with built in speakers) that can even comes close to the room filling sound quality.

Problems: The only (pseudo) complaint I have with the LVM-37W1 is the potential static image ghosting that can happen. But that is a common issue with all displays that use the same display technology.

A dedicated HDMI input would be nice but with simple HDMI to DVI adapters and cables readily available it is really no big deal
