Greetings,
If you have walked by the TV section of any big box store recently, you may have noticed that flat is in and rotund is quickly being shown the door. As Eric Taub reported this week in the New York Times, those so-last-century, bulbous CRTs are losing market share more quickly than analysts expected.
Taub wrote, "Picture-tube TV's represented 78 percent of the market in 2004 but will account for only 54 percent this year, according to the Consumer Electronics Association, a trade group. In the same period, sales of flat-panel units have jumped from 12 percent of all TV's sold to an expected 37 percent this year."
In response to the market swing, major TV manufacturers are cutting back their CRT models. For example, next year, Sony will only offer two and Panasonic none.
So if you are in thinking about buying a TV, you've come to the right place. And to further assist you in your research, HDTV Solutions has added new features that will help you mine our database more effectively.
For example, if you are reading our new review on the ViewSonic N3251w and click on its spec page: www.hdtvsolutions.com/ViewSonic-N3251w.htm, you will find an expanded data sheet with all sorts of useful information at a tab click away. We also added a "Compare" function. Just click on the green + next to a model number and that TV will be added to your Compare List, which can accommodate six selections. When you hit "Click to Compare," we'll give you a side by side listing of the TVs specs and features.
Let us know what you think.
Stay tuned,
Dick De Jong
