My Experience: I wish I had found this website prior to buying my 50v720!
I guess I am a little more lucky than the others,my projection lamp lasted almost two years.And right now I am waiting for a replacement lamp,which cost me $197.00 on line.Which isnt bad but I dont want to buy one every 8mos-2yrs.
Reading about blue blobs and pinkish discolorations after replacing the bulb does not make me happy either!
My wife and I do a good job keeping our house clean and that includes the T.V. set front and back.But I was shocked at how much dust was on the inside of the Hitachi when I removed the front panel to take out the lamp.
Over all a very nice set,but I agree with all the other reviews on this page,dont listen to sales people and really research the product before buying!

Problems: Lamp burning out and voracious appetite for eating dust!
