My Experience: I researched several HD's before buying this one. I decided on the Sanyo DP42647 over the Vizio, because the Vizio had the glossy black border, which was very distracting. The price was right, compared to more popular brand names. Besides, what's in a name, other than a higher price?! I've had this set for about a month and couldn't be happier! I have DirecTv HD and all the HD programs look great. The SD programs look equivalent to CRT tv's. The audio is as good as my old CRT. The video setup menu is very basic, and doesn't display numbers, like the Sony Bravia, but after messing with the settings, I feel that my picture looks as good as the 42" Bravia that we have where I work (a major movie network). I recommend spending your money on this one, as opposed to the higher priced LCD's, just because it is comparable, and as good. Through my life I've owned, or have known someone who has owned Sanyo products, and they've always been top quality for the money!
Problems: Only once, after my son was playing PS2 on the video 2 input, he moved the input back to HDMI 2, and the audio was absent. I tried channeling up and down on the receiver, but the audio wouldn't come back. I then moved the input select through the motions again, and the audio came back. Interesting, but concerning as well. This has only happened once, but I will be 'on guard' for repeat attacks!
