My Experience: Purchased 9/27/06. I found the instruction manual difficult to understand for a novice. Perhaps a description of each format to help those like me to decide which to use would be helpful. Once we got the TV hooked up, and after over an hour of frustration to get it to work with the HD cable box, we got a picture. (good luck getting a Vizio rep on the phone). After fiddling with the contrast and colors, and getting the HD cable box programmed, We got a really great picture on HD channels. Standard is acceptable. After 4 days of occasional use, the problems started. Had it continued to work well, I'd say it was a great value for the money. It didn't.

Problems: Loud popping in the speakers - sounds like a loud popcorn popper is attached to each side (stereo yet). AFter over 30 minutes on hold (and NOT a toll free number) a technician at Vizio said I have a bad TV and they need to send me a new one. He transferred me to customer service where I had to explain everything again. They had me fax a copy of my store receipt and promised to call me right back with information on what they were doing. That was over 5 hours ago. I emailed. I faxed a message again. I called back. another 20 minutes on hold before I hung up because the calls are getting expensive.
The popping sounds stopped. Then they started up again. (sigh). I'm taking it back to the store.
