My Experience: In Dec. 3, 2006 I call and purchased a 51" Vivitek from ShopNBC. I believed that a company representing the NBC network would be as trustworthy and sell reputel products. When I ordered this item on 12/3/2006 I asked if I would receive it before the 25 of Dec. because it was a Christmas present. I was told that it would be delivered in 7-10 days. After 2 week went by I called ShopNBC and was told that 3rd party is handling the shipping and that I should be receiving it by the 20th. They gave me the name of the shipper and waybill number for tracking. I called the company (Home Direct) and they said it was in Memphis, Ten. on the dock and that they had been waiting to fill the tuck up. After calling numerous times, it finely arrived on Dec. 30, 2006. It had been picked up on Dec. 8, 2006 22 days. I had call ShopNBC on Dec. 22, and told them that I didn’t want the TV if it didn’t come it by Christmas and would not except the shipment, but I was told I had to except it and would have to pay to ship it back at my cost, but they would send me form to return it. I decided to keep the TV. Will this is the second mistake I made, first buying it. Six months later it started flashing green, turning it’s self off and back on again. Called Vivitek (after getting the run-a-round and like calling five different numbers) all the tech could tell me is to change the lamp because of the code it had blinked out. Lamp was working find, didn’t have but 1400 hours on it. I called they back later and ask them to have someone look at the set because the lamp was working will, but they insisted that lamp was bad. It only did this six or seven time and quit. I also called them about a remote control code, so I could program the cable remote. All the codes they gave me never worked. Then the second week in January 2007 the flashing green, cutting off came back. I called Vivitek again and again and again and but they would not warranty the TV, not even a good will warranty, not even go in on half the price of the repair. The tech said I needed to replace all the fans, the color wheel, light engine and some electronic broad at a cost of $900.00 plus. Call customer service and shop NBC, but no help. So I finally took the thing to a repairman that charged $200.00 to fix it. He said the connections were not making good contact and he had cleaned them. Will it worked find for 6 hours and started flashing green. So back to the shop it went, another month went by before TV was ready. This time he cleaned all the connectors. He told me it had been working great at his shop. This time it played less than two hours and started flashing green and turned it’s self off. As of now it’s still in the shop, he hasn’t figured it out yet. A class action suit needs to be done.
Problems: flashs green and turned it’s self off. no remote control codes.
